if not very good, annualized eps around 10 rupee is very good for a share like jkh which is trading at 162 rupees.jkh usually traded at high pe ratios above 20.

Wonder who sold the big chunk today?? Mr. Captain?

Was quite a positive poke to the CSE with a large foreign inflow.

Cheers!

One can trace NTB profit number from JKH accounts provided JKH has not made any errors in booking NTB profits Smile. Refer below the image... as per my caln. NTB may have an eps around 1.18 for this quarter.... I may be wrong!!!

I think Consumer Foods & Retail segments has a one off other income. It was in one of their subsidiaries.
Although JKH is said to be a diversified their profits are seasonal completely depending on hotel income. Specifically profits are flat in off season. And the in this good season they should have done better.

Though my Profit before tax number is off by LKR4.4 million (423mn-419mn), Profit after tax number is off by 91mn. This is I guess due to over provision of taxes in previous quarters which has resulted in a lesser tax for the last quarter. Refer below quarterly profit before tax and tax amounts....

Q1 2011 PBT 574,297K Tax 198,443K Tax % 34.55%
Q2 2011 PBT 550,162K Tax 189,763K Tax % 34.49%
Q3 2011 PBT 662,242K Tax 228,539K Tax % 34.66%
Q4 2011 PBT 423,179K Tax 59,242K Tax % 14.00%

The above shows how profit from previous quarters shifted to last quarter through tax provisions. It is only a 14% tax provision in the last quarter but a 35% provision in previous quarters!!!
