Clear manipulation. Is it Government?

Post by Leo on Wed Feb 15, 2012 2:03 pm

It is clear that the market is manipulated. Everybody knows it and its not a secret. The officials also knows this very clearly. whos been in this market for 2 to 3. month knows
this well.

to day also at the final 45 minuits the market is going up. This happened many day now.

Officials are not taking any action on clear manipulation.
So is this manipulation done by the government? If so why?

Re: Clear manipulation. Is it Government?

I recently read this book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Long-Short-Investment-Normally-Intelligent/dp/0954809327

At one point it mentioned that certain individuals managing funds like the EPF, use those funds to play in the market (for their personal gains). And sometimes the fund as a whole has to pay the price. I suspect something similar has happened in the case of EPF sometime back. Government may be covering it up without exposing the responsible individual (which would seem like a weakness in a country like Sri Lanka).

This is just one possibility, I'm not sure if it's the actual case. But it's hard to believe that a collective decision (in the interest of the EPF) had lead to that kind of poor investments.

Cheers!

sure! clear manipulation! Now shares are bought at ask prices along! What they are going to do? Simple, they will reach upper levels of shares tomorrow!

Manipulation is there . All knows. Nothing is done. We loose. No one bothers.

i am not an expert , but are the Indexes (ASI and Milanka) too sensitive? Is there a way that indexes are made not to be affected by 100 share trades?
( High market capitalisation shares traded in a 100 quantity, affect the market in around 0.5% up or down in some cases) Is there another way to make a index which want be affected due to 100 share trades.

Just an idea.

100% agree with you SL.Market. If one knows the correct entry point and exit point , nothing to worry. It comes from the experience. No pint of blaming like JVP people when market show some positive shw.

How long will that pattern last. When we understand and adupt to the 10.30 - 12.00 pattern, then those manipulators (or rather government, since manipulating them selves or letting others do freely) will change the pattern

That's on some occasions only, u cant time it like everyday at these times miracles will happen Evil or Very Mad

its a normal norm that u dont trade much on the first 30 mins then u start.. but if u want to do day trading u have to identify high TO shares with no of trades done in first 10 mins otherwise u lose..

troy's timing is more suitable in a bear market like this. I have analyzed daily charts of the heavily traded stocks since 2010. Most of the price movements
adhere to troy's mentioned timing. (More than 80%). To do that you have to select heavily traded stocks with high volume. At least you can minimize the loss. I also have earned good money buying around 11.00 a.m and selling around 2.15 p.m.

The following article I read sometimes back may be helpful to gather some points.

Stock Market Cycles That Make Money
By Vincent B
Many stock traders will follow patterns in the market rather than invest in a stock that they've researched. The reason why so many traders invest in market patterns is because its far easier to trade if you can find a repetitive cycle, just think of it for a minute.

If you knew the market was going to move in a certain way at around the same time every day, wouldn't you make a fortune?. Below, we've outlined several market cycles that happen either every day or over several days.

Most of these cycles can be around 80% accurate, its up to you which ones you want to follow. A good idea would be to take a good cheap stock from the Nasdaq & apply it to any of the market cycles listed below for a couple of weeks. See how it performs, if its making you money, then stick with it. Remember, these cycles are repetitive so you can use them over again & again.

* 10:30 a.m. (Usually 10:15 to 10:35., 1st high or low of the day)
* 12:30 p.m. (From 12 to 1:00 p.m., markets tend to reverse what they were doing at 10:30 a.m.)
* 2:00 p.m. (From 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., market trading heavier/trend for the day may change)
* 3:00 p.m. (From 3:00 to 3:20 p.m., one direction, which may or may not be the same direction that was established between 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.)
* 3:20 p.m. (From 3:20 to 3:40 p.m., change direction)
* 3:40 p.m. (From 3:40 to 4:00 p.m., tends to go back to what it was doing at 3:00-3:20 p.m.)

These rules can apply to any chart that follows the NASDAQ, NYSE or the S&P500. So for example any stock on the NASDAQ100 list should do the same as above.

The above rules will apply to the market most of the time but especially on ranging markets i.e. markets that tend to trade sideways as there is no real news moving them.

If used in conjunction with the market indicators i.e. MACD, RSI etc this information becomes a powerful tool for taking lots of money out of the market.

Multi Day Cycles
General Market Tips:
Strong up Mondays usually means down week.
Strong down Mondays, usually mean up week.
Markets rally in mornings, sell off in afternoons = bearishness
Markets sell off in mornings, rally in afternoons = bullishness

Another way of making great trades is using the little known multi day trading cycle.

Here's how it works
On the 3rd, 5th or 8th day a stock will generally reverse course! I know its hard to believe but its correct. Suppose a stock is falling. Very often the stock will halt its slide or even rebound on the third day. Now if it doesn't hold up on that third day watch for the Falling to stop on the 5th day and then again on the 8th day.

The 8th day is my favourite as you can make spectacular gains on this day. This is probably one of the best kept secrets around. Again, if you use this information with the other indicators & use a 10 day MA in Bigcharts.com, then you should have a good shot at getting in at the bottom. Also don't forget to use the charts at marketvolume.com to give you an even better edge on things.

to day also at the final 45 minuits the market is going up. This happened many day now.

Officials are not taking any action on clear manipulation.
So is this manipulation done by the government? If so why?

You dont need to worry... and I m also not worry who do the manipulation...

Take the benefit of that...

Happy about the way of finished the game today...

Dear Leo...

I think U agree with me... no need to worry who do the manipulation.. but take the benefit of that

Well said. While the market was down all I heard ppl bothering about was why government was not saving the CSE (though its out of the question how ethical and sensible the grievance was). Now the market is considerably green (seemingly manipulation) again rising criticism about “who watches the watch dog”. Just let the market flow this way for a while since it’s the so called “market correction” now fundamentally, even if its being given an artificial push we can make our minds its for the better and not worse. At least this criticism is ethical on the grounds market manipulation here is not carried out to harm the market since we investors only wanted the market be saved from crash, and all investors will benefit at large.

I totally agree with you and most of the time this was proved in CSE.
As you mentioned in another shared thread 'Follow through day' also to be noted.
Thanks a lot.

We all know that CSE is the number 1 example for manipulating shares.No point of talking every day.We have to try to get the benefit from manipulation & need to exit at the right time. Doesn't matter who manipulate?If not we cant stay with CSE.I also had to incur some losses to understand the theory in CSE.Now i know what is the best way to deal in cse.

Basic tactics won't work with CSE even in Sri Lankan Govt offices.
