DFN-TWS on blackberry

Is there anyone using dfntws on blackberry. I have two questions.
1).Does it work on a Blackberry storm 9530?
2).Do we need a "blackberry data plan" for it to work or the normal internet connection(GPRS or HSDPA) is sufficient?

I myself found answers finally. lol

It works on storm and you dont need a BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) to run the application.
But still I could only find the application configured for Asha Phillip. The download link for BlackBerry on Asia securities web page doesnt work.

If any of you have the .jad file for Asia Securities system please post a link here.
btw if there is anyone who needs the .alx & .cod files for Asha Phillips platform reply here. (website only provides a .jad file )
thank you

http://www.filefactory.com/file/cbcd34e/n/dfn_asha-bb.rar

Yeah you can. But from my experience the OTA installation works only if you have a BIS(May be there is some other way). So I created a file containing .cod files along with .alx file so that it could be loaded using the BB desktop manager. Once installed no configuration is needed but it worked only for my Asha account. Asia login failed.

someone please post a link for Asia securities BB version of DFN.

Gee Thanks.. I think if ur BB has a 3G or edge connection, it works rite?
I think its just like the same software we use to load on PC and do trading with some limitations in BB.

It this soft only 430KB?

Well Asia doesn't support DFN BB as of yet as per my knowledge.. so normal DFN login could not be used.. Since Asha supports, u could Wink Thnaks again for your efforts..

yeah change the APN according to your service provider and it will work no matter what the data service provided by the network is. Once loaded it is something around 1 Mb. Its really a nice app. Has a mini version of most of the features DFN TWS has.Even the charts.

Hello friends,

Mine (BB Curve 9300) does not work on 3G some times when I have made it to update every 25 sec. Does anyone experience that problem?

Thanks

Guys, a quick update on the subject,

I would say iPhone4 is the best for online trading (on Mobile).Mtrade Sri Lanka application is available for free (DirectFn), download it.
Select your broker, and your details and you are in buissness. And this application is very very fast compare to the application for the Blackberry.
Very very user friendly, only thing you are missing is the ticker.Full order book is available so that is very handy.
I highgly recommend iPhone 4 over Blackberry for online trading. I hope you could do the same with iPhone3. Never tried but will post the results soon.

@Chamith. Are you using BlackBerry or iPhone4? In my company network, I am not allowed to do trading in stock markets. So, currently I am using my HTC (windows mobile) to do trading, which support DFN web interface. I am able to manage though it's not user friendly.

@Tenn. Thanks for the update. I think iPhone4 is the best option. But I need to make it sure it supports outside Sri Lanka before go for iPhone4.

I got a N97 but my contract will end soon. So its time to decide what to get.

I checked on Asha philip's website n they have the DFN iphone and blackberry application available. But Asia Securities dont have any. SO i guess this mtrader is only for Asha philips customers....

Actually these are two different choices.. By the experience I know that PDA users are addicted to the business phones. specially is because the 'qwerty' key board for easy typing. Normally they use touch mobile as a backup phone..

@Monster, I live in Dubai and it works here. It should work from where you are because it is an iPhone app.
@Chamath, I'm with Asha Phillips, and there is a tab in the bottom of the login page. There you have to select the broker firm. Asha Phillips is there as a default setting. I tried changing the broker firm and looks like there are no more broker firms listed other than Asha. Check with your broker's IT division.
May be you might get luckey with Blackberry.

Tenn,

I checked on Asha philip website and asia security website. You can clearly see Asha philip offering balckberry and iphone app for their customers. But the links in Asia security are not active. That means blackberry and iphone apps r not available for asia security customers. I dont think i can change the the settings and use my Asia security DirectFN login in this mtrader iphone app. Anyway i will have a go in couple of days n see

Well I have been trading using my iPhone4 while at work for about a month now. Previously I have used BB9300 and that does not support very well. Try directFN app on iTunes. There is an app called DirectFN Sri Lanka download it. I Guarantee you that works.
