To the current market price non voting share is worth than voting share.

Here i'm coming to rescue you guys.. look at the following comparison and tell me how you feel about the results;

Now if you guys are OOPS!! after looking at this, here's the conclusion;
EPS got decreased by ard 130% for the Q1 qtr compared with last qtr (December 2010)
Other income + income from Associates kept the momentum running for CINS Wink

Thanks smallville for bringing this up. Intrestingly CINS is not the only company to have shown YoY growth while showing a QoQ decline. Chickens did so too and so did DIAL, SLTL and very many other companies. But if you read the press releases all of them companies are doing wonderfully well. That's why I always say don't buy share based on what the papers say. Only a few like DOCK have shown both QoQ and YoY improvements.

Disclaimer: Please note that I am not asking anyone to buy or sell any of the shares mentioned above, I am just giving examples.

Agree with smallville,but i won't say oops Wink

*In insurance, company revenues derives mainly from underwriting and investment. Insurance companies make money first, by underwriting good risks so that their premium cover claims losses and expenses (the money left over being called underwriting income), and second, by investing premiums until claims have to be paid (called investment income), sometimes casualty companies lost money on underwriting but made up for the loss with a gain in investment income.

*earning pattern(group-EPS)
2009-1Q-3.83
2009-2Q-4.81
2009-3Q-4.58
2009-4Q-13.28
2010-1Q-4.19
2010-2Q-0.75
2010-3Q-3.75
2010-4Q-28.98
2011-1Q-10.84
as highlighted above last quarters of financial years done exceptionally,but 1Q profits came down(didn't looked into steep,so there may be little miscalculations,but not huge deviations)

*Net Change in Reserve for Unearned Premium-there is a considerable deviation in this item(in quarter results)-this unearned premiums may come realized in coming quarters.
---Written premium is premium registered on the books of an insurer or reinsurer at the time a policy is issued and paid for. Premium for a future exposure period is said to be unearned premium for an individual policy, written premium minus unearned premium equals earned premium. Earned premium is income for the accounting period, while unearned premium will be income in a future accounting period.

*Investment income is likely to come under threat in the medium term given lower
returns on both equity and government securities(ASI and MPI fluctuate)

*total investments-(32Bn)

anyway thanks given to smallville for point out this,but still considering growth phase, this as a good share.

Someone has brought it and it is his luck. swan3 or myself or god cant help you. It is demand and supply. At the correct time we must offer correct price and then only u can buy your favarites. I an be with u . But it doesn't mean that you will easily buy your interested shares at the price you offer.

One of the few shares which had given excellent returns in the past to it's shareholders/investors when other blue chip shares like JKH/COMB had had lackluster returns to it's shareholders

An investor who bought CINS @ closing price of 2012 and selling after the 2018 Dividends would have earned an excellent Compounded 20% Annual Rate of Return on the investment. Well above the bank FD rates during this perioid
