Indian shares reached new highs during the Indian general election. Modi who is a business friendly leader was the favourite to be elected. Market went up almost every day and set a new record.

In Sri Lanka when the election was announced the market kept going down. Why? Don't we trust our political system or do we think that this is the end of stock market?

There is only 2 outcomes in this election. Both the outcomes are good for the market.
1) MR winning - Market will gradually go up and may touch 10,000 in one and half years
2) If MS wins - A UNP backed government is always better choice for the investors. There will be a fast appreciation of ASPI

I don't understand why so much panic is needed when fundamentals are so strong and we can expect better quarterly results from majority of the companies in coming quarters.

Aren't we matured enough like Indian investors or brokers creating panic to buy cheaper?

So, don't worry about the political scenario. If you are looking at 1 year and beyond then you are investing so go and put your money in fundamentally sound shares and forget about it. This is the best way to go.

When people don't understand fundamentals it is very difficult for anyone to predict the market.

There is a presidential election - Yes, So what

Are there any economic problem - No

Are the companies listed in CSE performing badly - No

Is the interest rates rising - No

Are foreigners Selling - No (14 days of continuous foreign buying)

All the fundamental factors are positive. So why all this selling about. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Can anyone give me a period in the history of CSE where there were continuous foreign buying other than this period (14 of 15 days continuously).

That is a strong signal of the current market fundamentals.

I have some other reasons to the market fall which i can't disclose as i may be kidnaped in the next day.

Yes. Force selling also there. But there is something else. All can guess & decide.Don't ask what & who from me.

Hope you all believe that i don't speak crap in SLEF.

So make your Own call. This is my judgement i am not selling.
