In an interview with NDTV, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe disclosed plans to create an economic region integrating Sri Lanka, the five southern states of India and Singapore.
The Premier, who is in Switzerland to attend the Davos Economic Forum, said discussions have already begun for the project with the Economic and Technological Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) with India scheduled to be signed this year.
“Our intention is to create a platform for value addition and logistics in Sri Lanka. We will come into more agreements with Singapore, China, the ASEAN, Japan and Bangladesh,” he said.

Next will be to join Vietnam too in the economic region. Thereafter, it may be Maldives & Mauritius. By the time the member nations of the economic region is decided upon it will be 2020. The VIP may go on retirement after visiting all destinations of his choice.

Katchateevu may become the regional fisheries hub for sure!

Always talking about joints . No self confidence at all.

I recall the era of JR Jayawardene, Gamini Dissanayake, Lalith Athulathmudali.... and Premadasa too. They worked , performed and talked.
Talked about how go beyond what they have achieved .

Now a days we have Jelly bean UNPers, they know talking only. They always want some others to create joints and perform for them.
