Srilanka is better than USA, Germany, Austria, Belgium List goes on

Post by predictor on Sun Jan 22, 2017 11:51 pm

In order to protect CSE investors from some members I am writing this.

The Bloomberg Country Risk Score is a composite of 29 indicators representing financial, economic and political risks facing investors. Risk scores are calculated on a monthly basis.

Out of the above 29 indicators I am going to say about 3 indicators which were shown by a member with regard to Bluemberg report.

When you read the following you will realized a same report could be used to either create a good picture or bad one. This is how people could mislead the others.

In the report you will realized from the list Srilanka's reserve position 3.6%is much better than the following so called better countries in the world.

Netherland  1.5%
Austria         2.8%
Belgium      2.7%
Germany     1.5%
Irland            0.8%
Luxemberg  1.1%
France         1.8%
USA              0.5%
Italy               2.2%
List goes on
Reserves
This shows total foreign reserves (excluding gold) held by each country's central bank as a percentage of gross domestic product. They effectively act as a cushion against economic shocks, such as hyperinflation and currency depreciation, that could be triggered by external or internal events.

Unemployment outlook
Srilanka's 5.2% is much better than
Sweeden   7.3%
Finland       8.9%
Canada       7.1%
Belgium       8.3%
Spain           18.3%
Ireland            7.6%
France            9.8%
List goes on.

USA 4.9% just slightly better than Srilanka.

Take the Inflation

Srilanka's 5% is better than following countries.

South Africa  5.8%
Turkey            8.1%
Argentina        23.1%
Even Russia is 5%, India 4.7% just little better.

There seems to be members in this forum may be they are paid to create a negative picture.
They take everything which is unfavorable to Srilanka and comment. I am sure our members get scared and try to sell.

People say stock mkt indicates the economy of the country. During the previous regime when they started cse didn't do well. To show the economy was doing well there were some inflows to the country. May be part of the robbed money and with this they also wanted to convert black money to
white.
As soon as this Govt came into power some of those foreign funds started leaving. May be to show the negative picture.
Also there are guys who are manipulating to support the prev regime.

Look at the CSE companies. Most of them have done much much better during last 2 years than the previous regime. Country situation is much better than previous. Look at the media freedom, Law and order, Income level of the people ETC. Salaries were increased. Disposable income level increased. Consumption level increased. Srilankan compaies are doing well.

But the prices have come down.PER have come down from 18 to 13
Look at the daily transactions. Spending just a fraction of monies robbed from srilanka they are manipulating.
Seems to be a very big group of people are behind. Srilanka should take action like what China did in 2016.

of course this is true... The ones who lost power and opportunity to loot are acting as economic terrorists. Expecting all sort of troubles event waiting for bombs to go off. We are living in a pathetically over politicized country.

Predictor has presented a good point. Thx.

Realizing that many are chasing after money, powerful groups can easily buy all types of people to achieve dirty aims. They are hired for riots, strikes, sabotage, disappearance, holdups, blackmailing etc...

Even you also can do same .

Take the following figures.
This is Canada which has 80 marks and Sri lanka which is at 12.

Reserves --- Unemployment --- Inflation Forecast
4.3 ---7.1 --- 1.9 Canada

3.6 --- 5.2 -- 5.0 Sri Lanka

No much difference in Reserves and employment. 3% difference in Inflation forecast.

But they have put Canada at top giving 80 and Sri Lanka at low giving 12 at Country Risk Score.

This means to calculate the overall risk much more data have taken into account by them than given four facts.

See USA and Taiwan. Taiwan is better in all the areas but USA has got higher rank.

I think to evaluate country risk they have considered many more like political stability, regional problems, terrorist and communal activities etc.

As you have correctly said there are so many other criteria in evaluating countries.
But as far as we know political stability is there in srilanka at present than the previous regime.
Even if all SLFP members leave the govt UNP can run the govt until 2020 because they have 107 seats and I am 100% sure TNA and JVP do not want SLFP come into power again. Therefore The political stability is there. Some may say UNP guys can go to Mahinda. It will not happen. Our media is trying to create a situation just by writing headlines in newspapers like some of our members do.
Terrorist activities are not there and may be Bloomberg still does not know the ground situation here in Srilanka.
