The tourism industry appears to have gotten off to a good start in 2017 with January arrivals topping the 200,000 mark.

According to the latest data, tourist arrivals in January amounted to a record 219,360, up by 13% from 194,280 in the corresponding month of last year.

The Government has targeted 2.5 million tourist arrivals this year, up from 2.05 million in 2016.
