EACH MINISTER COSTS TAXPAYER AN ARM & LEG.

THE SO CALLED YAHAPALANA GOVT IS SUPPOSED TO BE EXPERIENCING SEVERE DIFFICULTIES ON THE ECONOMIC FRONT, BUT IT IS REVEALED THAT MAINTAINING A CABINET MINISTER COSTS A STAGGERING 8.5MILLION RUPEES A MONTH!

This is all party unity government.UNP,SLFP,SLMC,UPCOUNTRY PARTY,etc,etc..are part of government. So cabinet will be large.Only rouges and unpartriotic elements are out of all party government.

Government is progress well not only in economic front but in every aspects law and order, human rights, freedom of speach, etc, etc.Further benefits are given to people such as salary increase, unbelievable price reduction to oil,....,projects are started, factories are build....Only mafia of Alibaba creating panic in stocks. They won't succeed in their aim.

@yahapalanaya i agree with the Law and order front we have made some progress but increase in wages was a huge mistake which led this country to a deeper hole.
Unity govt is a mess, which is bad for this country. If the SLFP and UNP had one philosophy then i agree that they can take the country forward, but unfortunately that's not the case.
Just look at what happened with Horana Tyre factory, Volkswagen and Loon project. Utter failure. Only bright thing in economic front they managed to get is GSP+ upon completion of some conditions. I dont know what more EU want our country to do. They have granted Pakistan GSP+ who are in deeper hole than us when you take there Human rights issue and terrorist issue. They marginalized the china when they came to power and now we're going after them again.

I dont care if the cabinet take 100Billion or 1 buck, only thing that matters is consistent policies and delivering there promises to grow the economy. Unfortunately last 2yrs is a highly disappointing years in performance wise.

The earlier regime did not label them as a Yahapalana Govt and the change was brought in the belief that things would be better. But what did the so called 'Y' govt do:

The biggest bond scam in history.

Fooled the masses with VW plant which turned out to be something else.

Same scenario with the Tyre factory in Horana with Italian collaboration.

Operation of De-facto Development agency.

Controversial coal tender.

Transformation of Google to Rama.

Wish to ask a question, if a layman & a religious dignitary are charged for similar crimes who should be severely punished?
In my opinion it should be the religious dignitary, b'cos he should set an example to others.

Similarly, the so called Yahapalana govt should not continue to do wrong under the big banner of yahapalana. For God sake drop that label and just continue as a unity Govt or whatever. These guys have nothing what so ever to do with 'Good Governance' and the people are fed up.

As a taxpayer i am against squandering of such money by showering perks and privileges on jokers under the big banner of yahapalana.
