The market witnessed a recovery after a disaster excepting the corrections on last two days. Nevertheless, the market witnessed net foreign inflow of Rs 170 million and Rs 204 million yesterday & today respectively in spite of ASI losing some points.

Surge in foreign capital inflows boosts CSE

• ASPI up by 4.93% and S&P SL 20 up by
6.85% in 2017

• Net foreign inflow of 14.3 billion rupees,
up from 383.5 million in 2016

• Net foreign inflows for 21 consecutive trading days

• Foreign investor contribution to total turnover exceeds 50%

The high probability of gaining GSP+ coupled with continued net foreign inflow should push ASI to unprecedented levels.

If  GSP  PLUS  is  granted  there  will  be a boost  in  the  foreign  inflow.
The  EU  has  stipulated  various  conditionss  to  restore  the  facility  the  Gvernment  appears  to  be  taking  positive  steps  I nderstand  that  caninet  approval  is  being  sought  to  repeal  the Prevention  of  Terrorism  act  the  other  conditions  are  the  Missing  persons act  legislation  to grant  better  facilities  to  workers  etc  I  hope  that  Govt  would  take  positive  steps  and  satisfy  the  conditions  stipulated  by  the  EU  which  would  not   be  harmful  to   sRI LANKA

Continuing net foreign inflow would be an indication of potential opportunity of the growth factor. This rationale is yet unknown to many or forcibly tread down.

On the eve of the Brussels voting on GSP+, today's (27th April 2017) net foreign inflow recorded a mammoth Rs 809 Million.
Gaining the facility will boost confidence of local investors who were on the sidelines to join the fray from tomorrow.
