Who made a formal & solemn objection against Sri Lanka. Is it diaspora linked representatives?
Whatever, having the majority consent is an outstanding accomplishment of officials who dedicated on the job for a long time.

Agreed.. This is the perfect moment for the government to gain people's trust. But if they miss this chance,, there is a strong possibility of people going for the HIGHLY CURRUPTED Mahinda party again. This government has F**ed up so many things, but yesterday's win at EU is a blessing in disguise for them,.  I

Fraction among folks organizes kind of protest/close up (Hartal) activities mainly aiming to become popular. Majority (mostly poor) had suffered a lot over 30 years & believe they are not deceived again. It is obvious that most of actions even demonstrating across the island are deliberate & intentional triggering instigated by certain groups.

Voting at EU for GSP plus is stooge, EU is America’s puppet, their another weapon is IMF loan.

The growing china’s influence in this region mainly in geographical, political and military reason, America eying on Trincomalee harbor for their naval base,

Until they reach their goal, problems going to hangs, EU and America will cry for Minority community rights in Sri Lanka.

On the other side, if Sri Lanka provides the Trincomalee harbor to America for naval base, North Korean nuclear missile will easily hit the Sri Lanka or Russian Iskander nuclear Missile will turn the Sri Lanka into radioactive carbon.

Do not  see crocadiles in your  Tea Cup. American expansion establishing bases is an old hackneyed story. Now Americans are not going for that option. In fact they need to close some bases in Japan and Philipines as maintaing cost is high for them . Another factor is world is more advnce than 50 years ago . If America needs to attack another country, they are using more advance options such as long rang missiles, massive ships which are equipped with all human and other facilities .

On top of that with whom This government is negotiating for Trincomalee ? Is it America or India .I am bit confused .

America using air craft carrier and massive ships before 1942 ( Refer history books or Videos), but no point with powerful missile or Radar evading modern jet plane that is similar to recent America's Mother bomb’s nonsense effect in Afghanistan .

Missile could be intercepted by missile shield like THAAD or S-400 missile.

Your modern massive ships with humans are needed refueling and supply, anchoring facilities, ammunition resupply or even for recovery operation.

In the case of war they can’t move the massive ship from long distance; they are easily prone to submarine attack or anti ship missile attack or even satellite track.

For long time America negotiating on Government to government basis secretly. As a diplomatic norm this won’t come in TV news or any other news.

America already closed the Philippines base and Japanese base is under pressure due to local public protest over frequent incidence. Yesterday America established THAAD missile shield in South Korea these are different matters

Now India working with America to control China’s influence in this region after China established artificial island with Military facilities in South China Sea.

India interested in land route connection between India and Mannar district and Sri lanka’s northern infra structure development because they have to move the ground forces quickly in the event of war similar to china’s silk road project.

Now India is not supporting Russia or mainly buying arms from Russia. India now tries to become regional super power in south East Asia.

All these ideologies are inter connected with GSP plus, IMF loan, USAID and many more but EU or America won’t heed the diasporas bark or minority rights and discrimination, may be used them as a tool.

True, they did the same thing in Yugoslavia and now in Syria for their own political reason and benefits and imposed trade embargo. If they benefit from the government they will brand the Diasporas as terrorist, if not they will take the government to international court for war crime.

Ukraine has the big manufacturing capacity and most of the African countries have the natural resources from Diamond to gold but they are very poor countries in the world because their political, geographical and military reason, not due to their companies’ financial data. Syria is another good example.

Some of the forum members now appearing here after the share market turned green with few posts and less than 10 reputation points, gauging others are an interesting thing with their retail shop running knowledge and  they are even unable to withstand their own post reply.

They will close their festival shops here when market turns red.

Senior members with more than 2000 posts and 150 reputation points in this forum, gauging others is a different matter.

Individual's views are always appreciated since each content has an added value & hidden point unknown to another. Moreover seniority, number of posts, reputation etc..are of no importance/relevance as no perfect one exists to gauge another.

What was lost in the past is retaken with great efforts. Now monitoring the conditions placed by the EU will be the next task. Any failure to attend it efficiently would lead to next threatening for withdrawal. So industry sector, state officials, trade unions & other relevant organisations are responsible to have the maximum benefit out of this opportunity.
