Cab and mini trucks reduced by 3 lakh.

Duty slashed on motorcycles, mini trucks and single cabs
   
The duty on motorcycles which are less than 150cc has been reduced by 90 per cent with effect from midnight today (17), Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera said.
He said that the 90% tax which is imposed based on the value of motorcycles will be removed. 
Meanwhile the excise duty on mini trucks and single cabs has been reduced by Rs 300,000 with effect from midnight today. Accordingly, the tax has been reduced from Rs 1,000,000 to Rs 700,000.

Oh ahhh.....this is another cheating....there is a condition ,,,,made in Japan only ....nothing for Indian bikes....who is going for Japan now a days...

This rule will be changed immediately. Once foreign minister or finance minister get a call from Indian embassy.now they are in full control of sri lanka

You can be sure that the 20th amendment to constitution is out with SLFP members with MS vehemently opposing the move. Hence, Govt is compelled to face LG/PC elections.

So, Mangala's announcement is targeting the LG/PC elections. Whether this could deliver the desired results is something to wait & see.

Overall this is an "ELECTION GIMMICK".
