Sri Lanka’s exports were up to 1.011 million dollars, a rise of 12.9 percent with growth in the textile and apparel sectors, new data shows.
“The USA, UK, India, Italy and Germany were the leading markets for merchandise exports of Sri Lanka in September 2017, ” the central bank said.
Industrial exports were up 11.1 percent to 744.5 million dollars in September, with apparel up 12.9 percent to 431.5 million US dollars.
Agricultural exports were up 17.3 percent to 262.7 million dollars.
“This was due to the improved performance in tea, owing to higher prices in the international market and growth in export volumes,” the bank said.
“Earnings from spices also increased considerably due to higher export volumes of pepper, cloves and cinnamon.”
Rubber products grew 13.3 percent to 76.5 million US dollars.
The trade gap up to September expanded 8.2 percent to 6.84 billion dollars.

As usual.. You post a Single negative News there are many people jump in to start criticizing the government and predicts a great stock market collapse...  You post a positive news no one want to talk and discuss positive outcome of it.. I wonder How we may move into the status of developed nation with this kind of shit holes living in this country...
Pathetic everyone talks discuss everything in political bias and no one has the strength the discuss things in lieu of political bias.

This country has come to Jokers Paradise

Mainly responsible Basil and  others

Main problem is slow action against corruption

If action against corruption completely stop
all will be happy
You will see positive comments in this forum also

Most of people not worried about tha country or Economy or future

All go after fast BUG

I thinkThis the situation after 1977 Basil and the crowd aggravated it after 2005

They tried to cash in war Victory

@ryan Hudson, Is one of the residential bugs who bites on behalf of Jarapassa, When Jarapassa looted the country they were very happy because they got leftovers,

Try to understand the fact that decade old corruption cannot be eliminted within days, At least you should be happy now there are non biased investigations.,
